"Strength found me when standing tall was all I could do."

Childhood Cancer Awareness

Dr. B’s Health Journey

I’ll never forget my journey through Stage IV lymphoma, which included eight different treatments that required a week-long hospital stay each time. During those treatments, I underwent intense chemotherapy, which took a significant toll on my body. I lost my hair, my strength, and experienced a multitude of symptoms with each session. Following that, I endured two years of maintenance chemotherapy. However, our faith and mindset played a tremendous part in how we dealt with the circumstances. No matter how bad things got, we believed that this was just a bump in the road… or a couple of bumps. This mindset shift helped us approach challenges with hope, resilience, and determination.
Six months after completing my chemotherapy, I thought I was on the road to recovery. But, once again, I found myself facing new challenges. My doctors discovered that the chemotherapy had weakened my heart, leaving me with an ejection fraction of just 25% – significantly below normal. As a result, I had to undergo an additional medical procedure to implant a defibrillator inside my body. I was also prescribed medications that made me feel woozy and weak. But I refused to give up. I had, and still have, an unwavering faith, a positive mindset, and an incredible willpower that propelled me forward. Moreover, I was blessed with an extraordinary support system – a loving group of individuals who stood by me, lifted me up, and became my backbone. Their love, encouragement, and support gave me the strength to persevere.  And then, the miracle happened. I was declared cancer-free! But that wasn’t all – my heart health also began to flourish. My ejection fraction, once a concerning 25%, had soared to 60% – a normal, healthy range.

By working together, we can identify and challenge any negative thought patterns, build resilience and coping skills, and develop a personalized plan to help you thrive – not just survive – during this challenging time.

Whether you’re looking for support through group sessions or individual coaching, I’m here to help you cultivate a strong, healthy mindset that will carry you through the ups and downs of this journey.

So, let’s get started on this journey together. Let’s work on building a strong, healthy mindset that will serve as your foundation for healing, growth, and transformation. You got this, and I’ve got your back!
